Today, we are proud to welcome Kevin Webb to Solidus Labs as Vice President of Policy. A principal drafter of the Clarity Act, Kevin brings two decades of market structure experience, and will lead our regulatory strategy and engagement with policymakers and government agencies in the U.S. and internationally, as Solidus continues to expand our trade surveillance and compliance innovation across asset classes and market structures.
Kevin joins Solidus Labs after a distinguished career at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the U.S. Department of Justice. Most recently, he served as a CFTC detailee to the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, where he advised Chairman John Boozman on digital asset market structure and the derivatives markets and was a principal drafter of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (Clarity Act). He was previously detailed to the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture, where he advised Chairman Glenn Thompson and Chairman Mike Conaway and was a principal drafter of the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT21).
Beyond his work with Congress, Kevin served at the CFTC as Chief of Staff to Commissioner Brian Quintenz, Special Counsel to Chairman Chris Giancarlo, Senior Special Counsel in the Office of International Affairs, and Senior Trial Attorney in the Division of Enforcement.
As Solidus’ VP of Policy, Kevin will lead our work with legislators, regulators, industry associations, and standard-setters at a moment when the frameworks for tomorrow’s markets are being written. Crypto, traditional, and emerging markets such as prediction markets and tokenized assets are converging, and legislators, regulators, intermediaries, and market participants alike are sharpening their focus on the surveillance and market integrity tools those markets will require.
Since our founding, Solidus firmly believed sound regulation is a precondition for market growth and integration of innovative assets into the financial industry, not an obstacle to it. We invested and continue to invest significant resources in engaging with regulators how our next-gen trade surveillance solution can enable integrity-driven and well-regulated capital markets innovation.
“Kevin has seen market oversight from every angle, from enforcement to defining the frameworks for how new markets should be regulated,” said Asaf Meir, Founder and CEO of Solidus Labs. “As traditional and emerging financial markets converge, Kevin’s experience will be integral to serving our clients, regulators, and the wider industry.”
“My career has focused on ensuring the integrity of the U.S. derivatives and digital asset markets through sound legislation and regulation,” said Kevin. “I’m excited to continue that work at Solidus Labs as it provides market integrity solutions to regulators, intermediaries, and market participants trying to keep pace with exponential growth and innovation in our markets.”
