Meridian is a London-based infrastructure-focused merchant banking platform specialising in cross-border project finance and debt capital markets transactions. We advise sovereigns, state-owned enterprises, infrastructure developers and financial institutions on complex bond issuances, structured finance and capital raising mandates.
We are expanding our execution team to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure and corporate bond mandates across Central Asia and the United States.

The Role
We are seeking an Associate or Senior Associate (3–7 years’ experience) with strong project finance and DCM execution capability to support live mandates. This is an execution-focused role within a lean team, offering high responsibility and direct exposure to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead detailed financial modelling (project finance and bond structuring)
- Support structuring of international bond transactions
- Prepare investor materials, term sheets and information memoranda
- Coordinate legal documentation process with external counsel
- Manage data rooms and investor Q&A processes
- Conduct credit analysis and risk assessment
- Interface with clients, arrangers, rating agencies and advisors
- Support regulatory and compliance documentation where required
The successful candidate will work directly with the Managing Director and Senior Project Finance Director on active mandates.
Required Experience
- 3–7 years’ experience in: Project finance (bank or advisory); Debt capital markets (infrastructure or emerging markets preferred)
- Strong financial modelling capability (robust, audit-ready models)
- Experience working on bond issuances or structured debt transactions
- Exposure to cross-border transactions
- Familiarity with infrastructure sectors (energy, transport, housing, digital infrastructure) preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
- MBA from a top-tier business school
- CFA Charter or progress toward CFA
- Professional training in project finance or infrastructure finance

A. Financial & Technical Expertise
- Advanced financial modelling skills, including project finance cash flow models; DCF valuation models; Sensitivity, scenario, and downside analyses
- Strong understanding of: Project finance structures (SPVs, non-recourse/limited-recourse financing); Debt instruments (senior debt, mezzanine, bonds); Equity returns, IRR, and cash waterfall mechanics; Ability to interpret and challenge technical, legal, and commercial assumptions
B. Infrastructure Sector Knowledge
- Solid understanding of infrastructure asset classes, including: Energy (renewables, conventional, energy transition); Transport (roads, rail, airports, ports); Utilities (water, waste, power networks); Digital infrastructure (data centres, fibre, towers); Social infrastructure (healthcare, education)
- Familiarity with: Regulatory frameworks, concessions, and long-term contracts; Public-private partnerships (PPP/PFI); Risk allocation and credit considerations
C. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
- Ability to evaluate complex, long-dated cash flow profiles
- Sound commercial judgment and attention to risk
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into clear insights
D. Communication & Client Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Advanced preparation of the following: Investment memoranda; Pitch books and client presentations; Credit and investment committee materials;
- Confidence interacting with: Senior bankers; Investors; Clients, sponsors, lenders, and advisors
E. Leadership & Execution Skills
- Experience managing and mentoring analysts
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines
