About the job

Join KuCoin EU and help shape the legal foundation of compliant crypto infrastructure for Europe.

As Legal Counsel, you’ll provide practical, business-focused legal support across regulatory, commercial, and corporate matters. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, Compliance, Risk, and Global Legal teams to ensure KuCoin EU operates in line with EU financial regulations while enabling fast-paced product and business growth.

You’ll advise on regulatory topics such as MiCAR, MiFID II, and GDPR, support licensing and supervisory requirements, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, and act as a trusted legal partner to internal stakeholders. This is a hands-on role with real ownership in a highly regulated, international environment.

What makes You special

• You hold a law degree and are qualified to practice in the EU (Austria preferred)
• You bring 5+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, crypto, or a top-tier law firm
• You have strong knowledge of EU financial regulation (MiCAR / MiFID II / GDPR experience is a big plus)
• You’re comfortable translating complex legal topics into clear, actionable business advice
• You have experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and supporting regulatory processes
• You work confidently with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams in fast-moving environments
• You bring high integrity, strong communication skills, and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
• You thrive in international settings and are legally able to work full-time in Vienna, Austria
