Backend Engineer


As part of our expansion, Solidus is looking for versatile developers to help take our product and infrastructure to the next level and respond to rising client demand. This is a full time software development position, and we are looking for inspired builders who can help us advance our ambitious vision and grow with the company. A strong candidate should be confident in their ability to commit pristine code on tight deadlines, corresponding with constantly evolving needs dictated by an extremely dynamic space.


  • Play a key role in building a large scale, highly responsive, resilient and secure system to handle storage of very large datasets, design pipelines, and business metrics to scale with growing trading volumes
  • Build disruptive solutions using cutting edge technologies with measurable commercial outcomes
  • Develop technical specifications, high level/detailed design, testing strategies, and implementation plans from business requirements
  • Manage end-to-end systems development cycle from requirements analysis, coding, testing, UAT and maintenance
  • Work in a fast paced environment

Required Skills

  • Experience with microservice architecture using Spring framework
  • Experience with Java or Scala
  • JAVA based OR mapping frameworks such as Hibernate
  • Experience with Kafka, Storm is a plus
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher is a plus
  • Experience with AWS is a plus
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python
  • Experience with continuous integration using GitLab or Jenkins
  • Experience with encryption and security a major plus
  • Experience in Financial Services or Fintech is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong team player yet simultaneously able to work on independent initiatives
