Alex has extensive practical experience of capital markets, regulation and policy, acquired through roles at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) UK regulator and the European Securities and Market Authority (ESMA).
Alex started his career as a listed derivatives broker, before transitioning into trading and market-making roles across both fixed income and commodity futures and options. Following this Alex moved to the FCA and leveraged his functional experience and operational knowledge of trading firms to directly supervise the UK’s biggest capital markets trading venues. Alex was subsequently seconded to ESMA’s Markets Policy team as a National Expert where his focus was across all MiFID II legislative and implementation issues.
Prior to joining Archax, Alex worked at the FCA focussing on the supervision of the UK’s most innovative trading infrastructure firms.
